If you have a grandparent that is getting older but is still able to live alone, they still likely need some help. Run Errands

If your grandparent has a busy life and often needs to run errands you can hire an errand running service for them. With this, the service will send someone out to your grandparent's home and then your grandparent will give them instructions on what errands they need them to do. Your grandparent can also call the service and give them the errands over the phone if they prefer.

These errands can be anything, such as picking up groceries or prescriptions, taking and picking up a dog from groomer, going to the post office, and more.

Provide Transportation

If your grandparent is the type of person that likes to do things on their own but they are not able to drive, you can hire a transportation service for them. This service will pick your grandparent up at a specified time and take her anywhere she wants to go. If she wants to spend the day shopping at a mall the transportation service will drop her off and then pick her up at a specified time.

The transportation service could also take your grandparent to church on Sunday mornings or to visit with a good friend or family members.

Provide Food Drop Off

If your grandparent is not able to cook, you can hire a food drop off service. They can bring completely cooked food for each meal of the day. IF your grandparent likes to cook, the service can bring the ingredients to them, so they do not have to go to the store and buy them on their own.
